Special Discussion with the Principals & Teachers in Southern Malaiyaha Schools

The Voice of the Plantation People Organization (VOPP) held a special discussion with the principals and teachers of Southern Malaiyaha Tamil schools regarding the current educational situation of Southern Malaiyaha children and the actions taken by the organization. The discussion took place on May 27, 2025.

This was a very meaningful and productive discussion. We have built a strong relationship between VOPP and the teachers, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.

OUR SERVICE

01) Taking action to mitigate climate change and protect the natural environment. 02) Establish educational initiatives that promote the preservation and celebration of the cultural identity of the Malaiyaga people. 03) Developing the higher education status of children in Malaiyaga. 04) Enhancing educational and economic opportunities for Malaiyaga women. 05) Empowering women who are victims and preventing all forms of discrimination against them. 06) Implement community development projects that focus on sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment within the plantation community. 07) Facilitate legal aid and advocacy programs to ensure equitable land and housing rights for the plantation community. 08) Advocate for the protection of human rights and workers' rights within the plantation community, including advocating against any forms of discrimination and exploitation. 09) Advocate for policy changes and reforms to strengthen the legal framework protecting the rights of marginalized communities, particularly the Malaiyaga people. 10) Organize peace-building workshops and events to foster harmonious relationships and understanding among different communities.
