A group of civil society organizations staged a protest against the Online Safety Bill, which was introduced by the Sri Lankan government. On 22nd January 2024. The protesters gathered at the Parliament Roundabout in Battaramulla and demanded that the bill be withdrawn. They claimed that the bill would violate the freedom of expression and privacy of the citizens. Among the protesters were members of the Voice of the Plantation People organization, who expressed their solidarity with the cause.
