Training on Social Cohesion and Gender

The Voice of the Plantation People Organization and Alliance Development Trust successfully conducted a two-day training program for Sinhala, Muslim, and Malaiyaha Tamil youth in the Kalutara District. The training focused on promoting social cohesion through addressing challenges related to Social and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), gender equality, and climate action.
During the sessions, participants engaged in meaningful discussions about the challenges faced by the most vulnerable Malaiyaha community members. They proposed practical solutions to address these issues and collaboratively developed a solidarity action plan for future activities.
Anthony Jesudasan- Executive Director, Lavina Hasanthi- Program Director and k. Yogasuji - District Coordinator of the VOPP facilitated the training. (Resource Persons) and F. Raajan - National Program Coordinator and A. Jesman, District Coordinator supported to the program.
Training held in Kandy on 21st - 22nd December 2024.

Leadership Training Series for Malaiyaha Students!

The first training in the leadership training series being conducted by the Voice of the Plantation People Organization for the Marginalized
Malaiyaha students was successfully conducted on 23.11.2024 for the students of GA/ Diviturai Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, grades 9 to 12.

The content of the training: Importance of Education, Leadership, Social Responsibility and Peace.
The students actively participated and shared their experiences and insights, making the sessions truly engaging and inspiring.
Heartfelt thanks to VRIDDHI, UNOPS and the Government of Australia for their invaluable support in making this training program possible.
Special thanks to the school principal Mr. Jeevaraj and the teachers for their cooperation in conducting this training successfully.
