The Voice of the Plantation People Organization was founded in the year 2000 as the Plantation Child Development Organization. On 04.10.2025, we met and held a discussion with our former representatives who had been with us and supported us since the beginning, at the Deniyaya office of the Voice of the Plantation People Organization.
This meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on how the Plantation Child Development Organization was first established. We explained to the representatives how the organization is currently operating as the Voice of the Plantation People Organization, the journey we have taken so far, and the results we have achieved.
The representatives expressed their pride and happiness in seeing the progress made how the organization, which began as the Plantation Child Development Organization, has now developed into the Voice of the Plantation People Organization. They also promised their full support to further strengthen the organization’s future work.
Moreover, the experiences shared by the former representatives were a great source of encouragement and strength to the current activists of the Voice of the Plantation People Organization.
The event was attended by Anthony Jesudasan, Executive Director (Founder) of the Voice of the Plantation People Organization; Lavina Hasanthi, Program Director; Francis Rajan, National Program Coordinator; Anton Vanaththiyya, Field Manager (Founder Assistant); as well as the founding representatives — Mr. Edward Kennedy (Teacher), Ms. Jesumani (Former Principal), A. Kannimeri, Ms. Dilipkumar, A. Prabhajini (Currently President of the “Sigaram District Malaiyaha Women’s Conference”), S. Devi, and I. Devini.
As activists of the Voice of the Plantation People Organization, this meeting was a great strength to us and has inspired even greater enthusiasm for our future journey.
