Matara District, Sri Lanka - June 24, 2024 – The Voice of the Plantation People Organization (VOPP) conducted its 9th workshop on the Importance of Democracy at Ensal Watta T.M.V School in Deniyaya. Facilitated by Mr. Jesudasan, the workshop aimed to deepen students' understanding of democratic principles and their significance in building a just society.
Through engaging and interactive sessions, Mr. Jesudasan guided
students in exploring key democratic concepts, fostering a lively and
thought-provoking discussion. The workshop emphasized the importance of active
participation in democratic processes and the role of young citizens in shaping
the future of their communities.
In alignment with their commitment to supporting students, VOPP, with
the generous support of the US Embassy, provided school bags to all
participating students. This initiative highlights VOPP's dedication to not
only enhancing educational experiences but also addressing practical needs that
contribute to the students' overall well-being.
